These pieces were handmade by Dina, whose house we visited in Imlay City, Michigan. She made them in the late 1960s, perhaps early 1970s. They are very well crafted, with serged and finished seams, as many people "back in the day" who were home seamstresses produced garments that were better quality than the fast fashion we see on store shelves today.
They are made in a matching bright cotton madras plaid. She saved them for all these years to donate to her alma mater, Kent State University, but when they didn't want the garments due to their costume house being overflowing we got the phone call.
