If you already have a current resume, you’re welcome to drop that off in lieu of the application. We do not want you to do double work when filling this out! HOWEVER - please review ours and fill in any questions / include the information requested that is not available on your resume.
If you have already turned in an application to us via email or in-store, we will be reviewing those applications FIRST. Applications are kept on file for 1 year, so if your application is older than that, you will need to re-apply.
RETAIL STAFF MEMBER
First and foremost, the person we’re looking for is truly passionate about selling vintage clothing. A natural salesperson is a must! This person needs to be friendly, outgoing, and enthusiastic and able to command their space. This person must be skilled at talking to every person who walks through the door on State Street - and we count on our staff to provide superior customer service in a warm and welcoming environment where everyone can find the vintage they love to wear. This includes learning and researching about the history of pieces & also about the future of vintage in how it plays a roll in sustainability.
This person must be self-motivated. The nature of the shop is employees have a lot of independent work time - we want someone who will see what needs to be done & takes action without the need for constant supervision. Day-to-day operations include putting out new merchandise, answering telephones, social media, maintaining a clean and organized shop floor, and balancing a cash drawer at the end of the night.
Finally, this person wants to grow with us. They are flexible and pick up shifts when able. They are motivated to help and learn in other areas of the store beyond simply retail selling, including but not limited to - sourcing, cleaning, mending, online listing, photography, social media. Both retail experience & online selling experience is a definite plus. We are looking for at least a 1 year commitment from potential candidates. Part time, starting at $15/hr.

CAN I WORK AT THE GETUP IF I’M UNDER 18?
Sorry, but no. Our staff is small, so all employees must be key-holders & able to open / close the store by themselves. State of Michigan law does not permit that until age 18.
